Buff’s Briefs – Number 3 Seasons Greetings! Welcome to the latest edition of news from the “Saw” camp and this time with a festive feel. We’ve been on a bit of a break from performing lately which continues into the New Year. As you would expect Dirk is very busy in his “Grotto” at present and we did not want a conflict of interest to arise for the old chap. Nevertheless, we have not been idle in our break and are working on five new numbers which includes the “feature” that I referred to in my last brief. Hopefully all will be revealed on January 11 th at The Blue Boar in Poole. I can report that there is a “Christmas card Cuckoo” in the band. Mr. Delmontie ever wishing to save the odd penny or two has been known to add his name on to one you have already received. Turn your back and you will find that the card from a dear relation on the mantelpiece now reads “from Auntie Ethel and Reg”. For those who have started to plan Christmas shopping 2008 already (there will be a few believe me) I can confidently predict that a new “Saw” album will be available for purchase next year. Whilst not yet in production we are starting to think about this project and as our last CD “Get Over it” was in 2005 perhaps it could be said that it is overdue. On the subject of next year we have started to fill the diary and I am pleased to report that we are returning again to a couple of old haunts. We are at the King Charles in Poole on Saturday the 9 th February and a week earlier on the 2 nd February we return to the Manor Arms in Burton, which I must say is a super music venue again and well worth a visit. Finally for this time, a big thank you from the band to Steve Seward for publishing this video of us on Youtube. http://youtube.com/watch?v=TOEfGLgUv50 It is footage of us performing at The Christchurch Festival in 2007 and I am sure that if he made himself known to us at a gig, there is at least one member of the band who would buy him a drink for his efforts. That’s it for now Merry Christmas everybody and more soon. Buff’ |
