DIRK'S -
'SAW NEWSLETTER
Rhino has previously " done the honours " with
the last couple of
newsletters,so now he's passed on the 'Saw quill and inkpot for me to
have a go.
We mentioned last time that we had a Scottish Mini-Tour planned, this
was our second time of doing this and we enjoyed it just as much this
time around.Starting off with our first gig in Glasgow, then moving
across to the East coast, playing Dundee,Laurencekirk and Aberdeen,we
had
a great time and hope to do it again sometime.
Speaking for myself it was nice to be re-united with the rest of the
"
McQuickly " clan....( only joking..I'm not Scottish - but that's
another story) There was a slight dilemma though.......the Dundee gig
clashed with me going to Amsterdam to see my heroes Walter Trout and
the
Radicals in concert ( I had won tickets in a competition ) and the FA
Cup final ( which Buffalo had tickets for ) Also JJ and Buff support
the opposing teams who were playing !! There was no rivalry though (
well not that much ).... and I'm pleased to say that the Dundee gig at
Deacon Brodies went well....as for the football match....well you can
judge for yourself ( I'm remaining neutral !! )
JJ was so impressed with the mercedes Magic Bus which we had hired for
the trip that he has decided to buy one .
The 'Saw also love playing festivals,we did 3 on the South coast this
summer.....Bournemouth Christchurch and Swanage...all great gigs and
we
look forward to perhaps doing them in 2004 ( if they'll have us back
)
Unfortunately the fourth one ( Brockstock ) was completely
cancelled...., but who knows the promoters may try to organise another
one next year.
Thanks to those who came along to support us at the first three
festivals.
The latest news is that we have the honour to be supporting Dr.
Feelgood on 22nd November at Mr. Kyp's Poole. We have tickets for sale
(
£ 10 each ) through our website if any one is interested. We're really
looking forward to it as we are all Feelgood fans ,and if you haven't
already seen them they are an excellent band, and it should be a great
night.
We will also be returning to Mr. Kyp's on 31st January 2004 to support
the Larry Miller Band who are also an excellent band, and we would be
pleased to see you if you can make either ( or both ) gigs.
That's all for now, I've probably waffled on too much anyway. Rhino
has threatened to confiscate the 'Saw quill ,and the inkpot is nearly
dry !!
Hope to see you at a gig in the near future and thanks again for your
support.
