REG'S - 'SAW NEWSLETTER Hello again from Reg My old mate Dirk has now passed the Saw newsletter duty over me to put together a few words about what life is like back in the Saw. Well it’s pretty much the same as it always was to nick a line from the Talking Heads. During the time that I was not actually playing with the Saw we were always in touch and seeing each other when we could. To me they are friend’s first and band mates second. So when they asked me if I would like to resume my old duties as Buff’s personal roadie it wasn’t a difficult decision to make. During my lost weekend I spent time working musically with my wife Kira and we recorded two albums of her songs “Little Demons” & “Dream On”, we still play at various acoustic venues around and some of you may have seen us at the Christchurch festival the same afternoon the Mighty Saw appeared. During October the Saw have a couple of special gigs coming up. The first one is at the Trivoli in Wimborne on Sat 2nd October where we will be supporting the Man band. This gig will be a special day for the Rhino as the Man band are just about his favourite band. Then on Friday 8th October we are back at Mr Kyp’s with the great blues singer Connie Lush. She has been voted the best British female Blues singer for the last 5 or 6 years and I certainly agree with that. What must also be mentioned is that the band is superb and has one of the best guitarist’s about. If I wasn’t playing the gig I would be watching it so I now have the best of both worlds. Something to look out for will be the new “Crosscut Saw” t shirt which should be ready soon, it’s got a new design and looks pretty good to me. We also will be looking to put a new CD together before long and are going to include a couple of new originals along with a selection of material from our current set. Well it’s been nice to see a lot of familiar faces at the gigs that I have played since my return and thanks for all your support, long may it last. Reg
If you hear any rumours circulating about our appearance up in Grays
in Essex and the events that took place there, they are all true. I can
only say that Fleet services will never be the same again. STOLEN There is a reward available for the safe return of a much-loved pink
blanket. This blanket dates back to the early sixties (a clue to who
owned it) and has been a faithful friend over the years. It has been
much used for a variety of tasks and never failed to please. It was last
seen crossing the river Thames via the toll bridge. |
